    Community Project Progress [January 7]

Following this thread about the announcement of our new aim maps, I figured we should have a proper thread for community projects. This is the first one and this will help keep everything organized properly!

I'll only post full pictures of the latest batch of screenshots and only use weblinks for the rest so it's not too cluttered. Make sure to give your feedback and post ideas if you have any, who knows it might end up in the final version

    • Added 3 new alpha screenshots of csp_aim_pistol

Then you obviously missing the point of what we're trying to do with the aim maps.

i guess i am. It's not a flame i mean they look really good but end of the day aim maps are for training aim and giving you different angles that replicate those on the standard maps. Fancy aim maps have been done before in source but nobody played them because there was too much going on and all people want is a clean aim map that has good angles and good flow to it.

Again this is just speculation from the screenshots so they could be sick maps to play and look good aswell but from my experience and people i know the simpler the better with aim maps but i very much hope you prove me wrong.

Well that's exactly the argument, actually. To make aim maps look the same as standard maps so it's not just blocky stuff version real maps. I don't think most people want is super simple aim maps, if they do however, I'm sure plenty of people will have custom aim maps with simple geometry and texture but what we're trying to do is to treat each map equally

Why don't you just play 1.6 if you want ugly aim_maps with no details in them?

the map i linked isn't ugly yet its clean and good to play. Just because it is simple does not mean it is ugly simple uses of good textures make it look good.

All i am saying is they have gone to great effort to make amazing versions of the standard maps that look sweet as fuck to then go and make over cluttered and over detailed aim maps the same problem with source's standard maps would just defeat the purpose of what csp's maps are.
