    Invalid Steam UserID Ticket

    This is a common issue after Valve's changes to 2007 SDK.
    - Shut your Steam down;
    - Delete Steam\config\config.vdf and Steam\clientregistry.blob files;
    - Start Steam again, it will recreate the deleted files and the problem should be gone.
    Just stealing this for the thread cobra for those who have the problem (aka half the people playing).

    TPD_-> IF you have the "invalid steam ticket" error try delete app AppUpdateStats.blob and ClientRegistry.blob in the steam folder and config.vdf ( optional ) in the steam/config folder and then restart steam
    if above doesnt work for a hard fix delete everything except Steam.exe and /steamapps in /Steam ( will destroy a lot of your steam settings ) -> be sure to make a backup
