    CSPromod February update changelog

    Hello everyone.

Here's the current changelog (last update: 02/25/11):
    http://changelog.cspromod.com/

You've all been expecting information on the upcoming mid-february patch we've talked about. First off, I'd like to explain why it's kind of late and what's up all in this post.

Basically, the reason why the patch got a little delayed is because we had planned to make a final build the 12th and release it a couple of days afterwards once we had a few map fixes done. I'm sure you're asking yourself why the 12th and here it is: amogan (our main coder) is on vacation right now and didn't have time to make the final build before he left which means while he's on vacation he doesn't have the time to come online and fix whats needed. It's really unfortunate I know and I apologize for that, it's just unforseen consequences (hehe).

In the meantime though, he came online a few times and told us he had a few more things done than planned. Those specific things are not listed in the changelog. They will be added as soon as I get the final changes on our SVN. There are also the godmode bug and the tabbing related bugs (invisible player models, T/CT model swapping,...) which we're actively working on and will hopefully have a fix for you guys soon. We also think we've figured out what's wrong with the ak47 accuracy and are working on improvements.

In the meantime, please continue emailing all your crash files to crash@cspromod.com thanks!

I think that about wraps it up for now, make sure to keep checking this thread in the next few days for updates to the changelog, the exact date for the patch as soon as amogan is back.

Thanks for your understanding and I hope you guys will keep helping us moving forward. Cheers!

PS: Please note that we're calling this patch 1.06, we figured we'd just stay consistent and make it easier for everyone to just increase the 1.0x number instead of adding another one or a letter. Simple is always better. So the next one will obviously be 1.07.

PS2: I don't plan on having the "official" localization files from the wiki be implemented just yet. We're still fixing a few things in that area and as soon as we're done with the English one and it's all done. I'll put the changes on the wiki so everyone can update their languages accordingly and once that's done, we'll put all of them in the release and then iterate from there. It should work out best that way, I think. Just making sure it's in the news post since I only had it on the development update site so it doesn't get lost.

Oh another small thing I forgot to say. As you can see, csp_dust2 is getting quite a bit of updates. We've decided we'd take one map at a time and do as much fixes as possible and then move to the next one and so on. We're currently working with j0lt on making full custom textures for dust2 as well.

That's basically the plan. Take one map, do all custom textures, fix as many bugs as possible, release it. Once it's out, look at the feedback and new bugs (in case) and do iterations on them for the next patch. That's how it should go in the future.

That's all now, I can go back to work

Nice, I was about to write what with the other maps, and then You wrote about it

Good luck in the further work.

    One question:
You want to make maps the same as 1.6 or make it like 1.6 with new feature for CT or TT?
    Because some changes was unnecessary.

Well, if you guys keep up this pace, from my pov, it will be more then fine. For the first time in years watching this mod (rarely but, u didn't give us a choice) i actually feel this is going somewhere. Somewhere GOOD! And this is the way to do it.

For now though, please make it a priority to fix the critical bugs.

Niiice Critical things need to be ironed out first, but I am glad to see the addition of some things out of the critical area. Looking forward to this.

Yes I agree with baho. Always try to fix the most crippling bugs first.
It is good to see the invincibility and invisibility bugs are being fixed soon. Those are the worst.

Yey! Good job guys and keep it up. I was hoping for month to month updates, so not having this come mid-February is fine
