Alrighty, much like the previous devlog from me, I'm going to list the things I'm currently working on and the things previously done right below that and as the title states, pretty much like a diary, I'll list the completion status of each item and make sure everything is up to date so you guys can kinda guess where I'm at in terms of art development :)

I'm going to update the media page tomorrow with all the screenshots I've done up until now and order them properly and might take some new ones. The problem is I can't really reveal things we're still working on because stuff change a lot and some people might see a concept and imagine it's in straight away and would whine if it might or might not be present in the upcoming beta. I'll try to post pictures though, right now I'm way too tired but I'll see what I can do :-)

There's a really simple fix for that. Put it under a tab called W.I.P. Done!

Well done.

Sure we all would love to see more screens or even videos (not mentioning the beta itself) but any information is a lifesaver for us.

I'm glad you want to implement the idea of an admin menu. I wonder how configurable will it be form the servers side.

Unless they've modified the game to use non standard files for hud content you need to create a font character.
All hud elements are font characters (i.e. steam\steamapps\youremail\counter-strike source\resources\cstrike.ttf or other font files listed in clientscheme.res file).

The Animated background? I assume that going to be like on HL2 where it shows Headcrabs and Zombines walking about.

It would be cool to see actual gameplay on the Gui, like terrorists rushing Up banana, owning some CT's In B then The remaining CT's pop some heads and defuse the bomb. With a fixed camera view at the back of B looking towards CT Spawn / Top of Banana.

Anyway just an idea that popped in to my head. Nice touch anyway Alba, keep it up.

Ça avance pas trop mal, mais j'ai l'impression que le mod n'est pas prêt de sortir... Le design a pas mal changé de puis la beta 1.03 mais quid du gameplay ? Il était très décevant sur la version précédente, si rien n'a changé depuis la communauté n'adoptera pas cette version non plus.

Bref, j'espère que les "insider" de cspromod bossent bien la dessus pour nous prouver que tout votre travail n'est pas vain!

Nice going not too bad, but I feel that the mod is not ready to be release ... The design has changed a lot of the Beta 1.03 but what about the gameplay? It was very disappointing on the previous version, if nothing has changed now, the community will not adopt this version i think...

Well, I hope that the "insider" of cspromod bossent well above to prove that all your work is not vain!

You're seem to be a really hard working guy - as the rest of the team, of course. And I want you to know that i appriciate that. Thanks for your efforts, and the awesome results you've presented so far, and yet another thousand thanks for the continued efforts you put into both the project and keeping us posted both here and on twitter. Love that, man. Love that.

I really like your style, both the website and the HUD you have posted screenshots of. My only concern is that is seemed kinda childish with all the colors and a kinda tacky font, but I guess you've got it under control. As long as there's a decided and coherent pattern to it, I won't be on your ass about it ;)

The only thing I'm concerned or worried about is the gameplay... At least it seems to me that you're focusing a lot on the gui, the homepage and customizations in-game at the moment. When I last played the mod, I thought the biggest issue was the feeling, the gameplay itself. To be honest 1.6 looks like pure shit, but the gameplay compensates this fully. I'm afraid of the opposite here, that the focus on producing nice screenshots for the community is taking focus from the gameplay. I've been following this project in periods, not reading all your changelogs carefully, so I might be wrong. But let's just hope you did something about the most crucial parts, I guess time will tell...

"The game itself will be out soon"... Thought that meant a week or two when I first read it, now i realize that it means before the end of the year.

Thanks CREDiBLE and don't worry about it, It's all about consistency and make sure things work and as I've said many times, nothing is set in stone and I'm always changing a few things here and there so overtime things can only get better.

As for you Finess...
That's actually something most people overlook and get wrong. The gameplay is and will always be the focus of things. Yes I am focusing a lot of the GUI/HUD and homepage and customizations in-game because that's my part of things. Most of the look stuff and scripting I do on my own so that doesn't take away any time from any of the coders. Some people might not know this but d0ublethink helps the coding process to :)

Making art assets take less time than all the coding process, bug testing and all the research gone into making sure all the gameplay stuff we do be as close as possible to 1.6 and get the whole feel right just take a long time and a combination of everything really.

Us beta testers are having a hectic period of research right now. Hopefully we'll be able to give the coders enough material to make the game feel better. Like alba said, the roles are divided. So nobody's actually hindered by anyone else. Hope I made myself clear.

I just thought it would be good to know the score of the game you're playing in.

Currently, the scoreboard just shows (Status, Money, Score, Kill, Death, Errors, Ping). You're usually keeping score during matches, but when you're just scrimming or pugging, you sometimes just forget. The round restarts and nobody on your team remembers what the score was because they weren't paying attention or something. A simple fix, add a way to be able to know what the score for both halves were. (It would be something like: "16 T" ------- " 11 CT)

You know the scoreboard serves a purpose in this game. Besides doing that in client mode would fuck up the weapon selection, we don't have all the space we want. I think the scoreboard works good enough for that. Though, that'll be included in cspTV in the future obviously.

Hmmm.... maybe it would be good if the round score just didn't restart after an "mp_restartround".... somehow... :?

Agreed. The score shouldn't be restarted in the scoreboard (only the CT and T scores, the players stats should) after the first half.

I'm the same way. Assuming you're talking about the "leak", there's a way to get around it. There's a quick select option in the multiplayer options. Just make the quick select for primary weapons "1", secondary for "2", knife "3", etc. I thought this might conflict with the radio commands (C1: Roger That!), but it doesn't. :)

It would be pretty awesome to have this at the start of each round during freeze time. Then it could fade out when as soon as buy time is over.

Not needed and maybe making things too complicated but... Maybe you can show the round number in red when a team needs 1 more win to GG. Or you could show round number in blue when blue team needs one more and round number in red when red team needs one more.

+1 really cool idea in my opinion, but just the first 5 seconds or so. Maybe have a console command(I know there is a lot) to set how long it lasts and 0 would disable it. Not really that important though I would be just as happy without it and the game released.

for animated background i'd simply make a view of de_aztec (i know its not in csp, you could actually put the css one in there) while raining and storms slashing around u know, seems gay but its not that gay actually :\

Alba will "Automatically switch to more powerful weapons" disabled by default? I think it's kinda confusing when you buy a weapon you don't get in your hand automatically, it should be enabled by default like in normal cs.

Alba will "Automatically switch to more powerful weapons" disabled by default? I think it's kinda confusing when you buy a weapon you don't get in your hand automatically, it should be enabled by default like in normal cs.

If this confuses you, then you are truly lost.

And about the weapon selection, it'd be nice to add a cvar like "hud_fastswitch 3" (since hud_fastswitch 2 already exists for nades) which would allow to fast switch with slot1, slot2 but not when using the mouse wheel. I don't think I'm the only one that's used to switching this way in 1.6.

I'm the same way. Assuming you're talking about the "leak", there's a way to get around it. There's a quick select option in the multiplayer options. Just make the quick select for primary weapons "1", secondary for "2", knife "3", etc. I thought this might conflict with the radio commands (C1: Roger That!), but it doesn't. :)

Yeah but if you've got only one nade left you still have to select it.

Also, I'd like to be able to use +attack2 with the weapon selection without switching just like in 1.6.

I've been playing CS for YEARS, and not once has this bothered me. It's possible though. I've gotten use to it being set to 1, i just go around the weapon instead of picking it up in some situations, so that I don't get screwed over by the autoweaponswitch.

Should you on the contrary tho, walk over a gun in a clutch situation, poof you have a gun with 0 bullets in the mag, gotta change back to the dgl, other guy hearing+shooting you = You are dead. When you have played CSS long enough for this to make any difference you will most likely have quick enough reflexes to do what i described (being as fast as autopickup).

Agree, I usually play with no auto switch for the exact reason you mentioned. But I don't care if it's default value or not.

gonna have to completely agree with smartin lol. I'm an open and understanding person, but honestly, if you play with it on you are making a big mistake. In competitive play anyways.

If you have no time to get behind cover (or any other means of delaying the enemy), then, most of the time, you can kill an opponent with a glock or usp faster than you can switch your weapon.

Hey, don't remember me the FAQ, I have read at least for 3 times every question, and I put this question only one time, I was not asking it in every topic, day by day.
BTW, I preffer to know a innacurate Release Date instead of this one : "It's done when It's done".
To be honest, I THINK the final version will be released on next year, but we'll see :D.
Firstly, we must test 1.04 in order to say if the game is ready for last modifications or not :D.
