I know a lot of people would disagree with me on this, but I (as in personally) think it could've been cool with like... a Hard Mode, that removes pieces of the HUD, such as how many bullets left, Kevlar, radar and maybe HP...

If you feel like flaming me for such an idea, please read the forum rules, and then, if you find a way to do it, without breaking the rules, feel free. I don't want anyone banned because of me :D

don't think that anyone got banned in here.

your so called "hard mode" is just useless. you can include that in a gime like cod where you can recreate after you got hit, but not in cs (imagine, drop from rafters on the yellow hut and don't act careful with ducking... DEAD... damn i only had 1 hp)

The great thing about cs is that people enjoy it for so many different reasons. if you look at the servers there are so many mods such as gungame, deathmatch, zombies, kz, warcraft, etc. However, none of these mods are accessible through the main menu (you have to find the individual server).

I have always liked that cs mainly focused on the "regular" gameplay. In other words, scrimming and playing matches is what cs is supposed to be about, at least cspromod.

So where would a "Hard Mode" fit into the counter-strike model?
Are you better for playing "hardcore?" Is it just for fun?
Why not just make items on the hud removable so you can say, "you might have killed me, but that's because I couldn't see my ammo clips!"

imo, this sort game mode is best left to games like cod for the console.
also, many of the current mods mentioned above might be better to have direct access to. They bring a lot of variety and huge amount of extra people to cs.

cs1.6 has:
hideradar; drawradar
hud_draw 0;hud_draw 1
hud_saytext_internal 0;hud_saytext_internal 1

But yes, it would be nice to have a cvar for everything
