View Full Version : How is the 1.04 crosshair looking

hi, so in 1.03 the crosshair really bugged me with how it took so long to expand and retract. i love the way it opens really fast and then retracts really fast in 1.6 so my question is has this been changed in 1.04 or is it still the same as it was in 1.03 which felt like you weren't even shooting at all for like the first 6 bullets or so.

i still want "real" crosshairs, like in cod 4 where the crosshair doesn't show where the middle is, but it shows you where you shots will go. like if you spray at a wall the crosshair expands so that you can see how big the spread is.
but that isn't like 1.6 so obviously it's shit.

In 1.04 they've managed to match almost exactly the 1.6 crosshair behavior.

I despised the crosshair in 1.03.. however i knew it was all fixable, but the knife crosshair angered me as did its contracting and expanding.

shumped has a point about the cod4 xhair, but its obviously bad for cs which he did point out. too bad Malephant is too immature to realize lashing out angrily on a forum doesnt do anything to help the situation. Just makes you look like a number of things.

In 1.6 the top of the expanded crosshair is pretty close to the maximum spread of the bullets, but is just that, pretty close...the AK shoots a little bit above, and the M4 shoots below. Making it like cod4 where it is a perfect indication of where the bullets are going would take the skill of controlling a spray away.
But MAYBE the awp could have a cod4 style sniper crosshair? With snipers you get a crosshair showing you the maximum radius of the bullet spread, it's really not needed, but it could be nice.

The snipers don't need a crosshair, it requires skill to hit a noscope. With a crosshair on it it would be (a bit ) easier, and we don't want an easier game :)

This guy has a point, I mean the biggest difference of all between CSPromod and CS 1.6, is the fact that CSP is on the SOURCE engine, so yeah, if you want everything to be an exact replica, haha, good luck, because it's not.
Do u want ~1.6 replica with smart tweaks on Source engine OR sick COD, Q3A, CSS mix on Source eng which would include all rocket launchers, crosshairs, sprinting, crowling, miniguns, special defusing gun, instant bomb etc.?

I really like iron sights. but I'm fine keeping how 1.5-1.6 behaved, just one thing bothered me.
In 1.6 the crosshair changed size as you change resolution, because of that I played at 640x480 resolution to keep it small.

Its not 1.6 OR quake so it sucks.
(in terms of crosshairs...if they put a rocket launcher in the game i will find alex garfield, and the rest of the dev team and kill them)

and bhopping, nothing like cruising alone 100 km/h shooting your AK with a rocket launcher glued onto it.
what about different crosshairs? 1.6 crosshair will be default then you can change to different ones like one with a dot in the middle or maybe with only 3 lines etc. meh just make 1.6, if people want different stuff then they should be able to add it themselves like you can now in source (changing how the HUD looks and stuff)
