just another thought of when in spawn during buy time all teams tend to drop weapons to each other for certain money situations. maybe to make this time a little more visually asthetic by showing ur player throwing the weapon with your arm. to another player and them catching it. i think that would kinda be a cool idea. a new way of dropping items. (throwing them)

That'd take alot of code and, therefore, put more time into development, meaning a even later release date. And i don't really see how it'd help gameplay out alot....and think of it makes the idea seem ridiculous, but it may look awesome depending on how they design it.

Every accepted suggestion doesn't have to be done right away and before 1.04 release. I'm sure if they decided to add in some eye-candy animations and minor stuff like that it would be of lower priority (done later on).
I think ideas like this are good. And when all the important stuff is out of the way, it would only benefit them to implement these kinds of ideas.
Not everything has to be crammed into 1.04. A game can always have updates ;)

Idon't like the idea, just wanted to say the only code needed is calling the player animation... [and of course the animator has to make the animation for the player model]
hey while we're at it, the receiving player good do a rugby-like signal of 'give me the ball' and the throwing player could take a few step back and wave the gun a bit before running back to his place and actually throwing it!!!

i don't think that's needed

im not saying its needed im just saying this game is being compared to 1.6 and source right? well then althought ur merging the two together, whats going to make it stand out, the little things. im tryin to think of "what is going to make players want to play this game over the others besides just the graphics.

making the game less sourcey feeling would actually help it become more of it's own game instead of 1.6 in source graphics.
look at K.O.S it's a game that's built on the source engine and is actually a lot like source, but it's doing it's own thing with totally new animations and totally new weapon textures.
i'm not saying make this mod into another game, but make it 1.6 with better graphics AND better animations AND better textures AND better models. like what would the cs dudes do with 1.6 if they had the technology we have today.
so i'm totally in for the throwing idea, doing an animation to throwing instead just the weapon randomly flying away like it is now.

Like someone else said, it isn't needed. But that would definitely be sick.
I think it would be a good idea for the future, maybe.
Imagine a player buying a gun, grabbing it off his back and tossing it across the spawn to another teammate. The other teammate catches it. :D

it would take a lot of time to do the animations for that, also it's not priority. if it's included it will be around 2025 xD

Good idea for in the future, at least for the throwing part(I think the "catching" would take even more time)if the programmers are done with the weapons, maps, and the rest of the game. Which will probably take years :)

catching isn't really needed, that would just be weird and you have to be facing each other to do it. just having a throw animation is ok. and hagisson how do you know it would take a lot of time? are you an animator?

they have no real animator so it takes them very long to make some good looking animations. they haven't finished the standard model animations yet

huh, well maybe it can come in later patches and stuff when they're done with the basic stuff
Sorry, but its unnecessary

Afaik when you drop a weapon you instantly switch to your lastinv, right? Making animations for throwing would then be misleading since you in reality are pulling out e.g. your secondary.

i dont know what you understand by graphic
for me
graphics = animations + textures + models + light + shadows + several effects (Blur, HDR..)
what else?

good point.
they might be able to make this work if dropping weapons actually turned in throwing weapons like grenades. This way you could hold mouse2, for example, and swing back your gun then throw it to your teammate (after which you would immediately pull out your secondary or whatever). The catching animation would only have to be 3rd person since the guy who just picked it up is already watching himself take out the gun (a lot of the 1st person animations just look like you might have caught it below your waist anyway).
Well that's just how i think it might work.
If you have an animation after you press your drop bind, dropping will feel sluggish and it might take a while for your next gun to be ready to fire (i think smartin was hinting at this).
The way i mentioned above might prevent from quickly dropping in action situations or repetitively dropping to move multiple guns to a certain location.
so in the end, i kind of like the simplicity of dropping with no animations...but it was cool to think about.

seriously... don't include it
give me a real reason why it should be in (and plz not "because it looks cooooooooooooooool")

well the real reason is that the cs community is competing with 2 games that are very popular, the only thing in the end thats gonna seperate them in my opinion is the little things, bc overall there will be the same concept with all 3
I mean i think so far the cs promod team has been doing a great job coming along with things. but when your making a game thats exactly like 2 others, not adding weapons or different models. you need to make yourself stand out, atleast if you want a good flow of players to choose this over source or 1.6 (atleast from a marketing view)

Uh.. I do agree with this idea, cause it will save some seconds. However this thing should only work during freezetime if will be implanted.

am i 5? first off I have probably been playing this game longer then you, 2nd it was an idea to help improve the popularity of the game. because unlike you im hoping promod grows to be beyond 1.6 and source and any suggestion i believe is worth atleast a listen at this point. you should keep ignorant comments like that to yourself. your just making yourself look "cheesy and gay"

GOOD ONE BRAH! And I've actually been playing CS in general since 1.3...
Oh...and what does how long you've been playing compared to me have anything to do with cspromod? And how would that little stupid idea change the popularity of the game? The game is the way it is now because it's good this way...get better at organizing and throwing weapons to teammates before freeze time.
I think instead of this idea, it is possible to make on another, is simple in the round beginning that showed ????? at whom money, as in warmod CSS.
