:!: IDEA :!:
BioHazzard: The left of the website looks a lil lonely, how about a random piece of media showing on the left of the page? Like a fade in/out effect.

Just an idea. Please don't flame my face.

^^^^Has it.

But what he's trying to say(I think.) Is that the design of the website weights heavily on the right hand side and the objects which fill it. It sort of takes away from the balance of the page, but I didn't notice it that much.

Well thats because the left on the main page only exists as apart of the news posts.

Website is fine. But it could use a better banner. Something that catches a persons attention.

Take these guys for example:

http://www.insmod.org/img/logo3.jpg

Nice banner, captures the idea of a war-themed game, and it's clear that name of the game is Insurgency.

I don't know about everyone else, but the little letters on the current csp banner are hard to read, not to mention that it's pretty plain.

Open up your browser, click the address bar and type http://www.cspromod.com... WOW A WEBSITE! (Nice job btw, bio)

The left of the website (I say website, yes website. Not Forum.) Is a tad dull. I like the clean look, but I don't think they have an Idea's and Suggestions Forum for no reason?

My nick has no meaning, it a combination of retardation and stupidity.

Banners with okes in them like that are way too common nowadays, I like the current one, simple yet classy.

Explain to me how this would be true. I don't see how a slightly better banner would "destroy" the simple look.

Here's an example of a "slight" change which looks better and still keeps the nice and simple look.

You must be fucking blind then.

The little banner right now is good for a small little sponsor advertisement or something, but NOT for a website banner. It small, attracts no attention, and it's boring. Forget about the actual game right now. I'm just talking about the website and only about the website. Everything else about the website is fine, it's just the banner which is missing something.

This is monstrous element13. It don't fit with the simple buttons on the navigation and the search field is suppressed.
I think alba is very experienced for that matter and if it really looked better he had made it like this.

Wow dude, could you make that a little bit bigger, I can't read what it says. Seriously element, the logo as it is now is fine and clear enough to work. Using your method all the content would be way below the regular eye height (you have to remember both the forum and regular news listing uses this) and the point of the website isn't to have huge banners or uber crazy colors over the place. It's made to be simple and effective. If later down the line I want to change it, I will but right now it's fine.

That was just an example to prove to you that adding more "action" to the banner would NOT "destroy" the website it like you said. I'm not telling you to change anything, I'm just giving you an opinion.

You can EASILY sense more professionalism from this website: http://www.insmod.net and the cspromod website. The Insurgency website is simple, effective, easy to navigate, and in my opinion looks pretty damn nice. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just being realistic. Showing professionalism plays a big role sometimes. If you guys disagree, oh well.

I can spend all day nitpicking that site away with unprofessional standards. One of my biggest nitpicks about websites is following standards as much as possible, and that site doesn't even remotely. Anyhow the site as it is now is viewed as very professional by people in the website and gaming industries, as I have shown it to respectable people from both.

All I was trying to do was help. Anyone smart would know that using this "http://cspromod.com/images/csp_logo.png" by itself as a website banner is too plain and boring, especially for a gaming community.

You're stubborn and arguing with you is useless. So go on and continue thinking what you think. I'm not going to waste anymore time with you. Good day sir! 8-)

I find something simple and elegant such as that current logo more visually pleasing than a banner that hulks half of my screen. Huge banners are amateurish, why must we be constantly reminded by a huge image what website we are on, when we already knew before we hit enter on the address bar?

Element13 is probably just some 13yr old kid who knows nothing about web design and development.

If you don't want people to bring up some ideas and suggestions, then don't have an "Ideas and Suggestions" forum. There's no need to call anyone a "13yr old kid" for simply giving out a suggestion. Damn bro, show some type of professionalism if you're going to be part of the CSP crew.

They did disagree, but you keep arguing and insisting that your opinion is better than the opinion of what--5 other people so far? Also, if you don't want to be called a 13 year old kid, then stop acting like a spoiled brat that isn't getting his way. If you look carefully, you'll notice that no one was being rude to you till you started being rude to them.

It is a gaming league. It does not matter how visually stunning the website is as long as the website and league function properly and professionally. You guys got talking about website design and lost track of the reason for building one in the first place. Most gaming Organizations lost track of that a long time ago. Form over Function seems to be the new standard for gaming. At least the ProMod coders and ideals for the Mod have it right. Function over Form.

You're absolutely correct. I'd rather have a website that's easy to navigate on, than a website which has so much crap on it that it's hard to figure out where to go. But that doesn't mean you can't spice up the website a bit without overdoing it.
