Hiho everybody,
I'm working on csp_aim_map at the moment. Some of you may remember my old version of aim_map for cspromod.
Well, we've changed everything! New theme, new textures and a new layout!

So let the Pictures talk for themselves ;)

just keep in mind, make sure the visibility of both models is on both sides identical.

the old pictures are to dark on the other side, young padawan.

Keep in mind both things are early in progress and the longer you stay here, the longer things will become :P I can hear them whiners already! :D

these People always want more and more :D...
now when they are getting more pics, the want some videos!
when they get videos, they want some movies!
when they get movies, the want to test it out by them self! :D :D

they will never get satisfied till csp is complete xD

i don't rly like the bricks and floor textures in that map.. looks too bright and too much contrast, too.

i don't like the ramp at spawn because most people will stand on that ramp and shoot from there.. so that you will only be able to see their head for a short moment.. and then die. that's not the point of aim_map imo. you should make a normal floor, no ramp.. and then make the spawn points look away from the middle of the map. so that players will have to turn around, after they spawn.. then people have to play without freezetime and everything will be perfect.

its an aim map ;) so the position is not important where you are. on ramp or floor ;) I mean on dust2 ramp... you cant say... ohhh pls come out I have no aim or any chance to kill you :D

word @ turock!

i think looks pretty cool so far! testing will show if the contrasts are good, but i think it will be fine, because there is like only grey colours and they will be a good contrast to the player models!

always thought that the aim_map in cs 1.6 with its dust theme is too colourfull.

The ramp is only there to prevent spawn killing like that's the case on aim_map. Besides, you can't "stand" on the ramp since it's level floor, so it doesn't change anything. You can do whatever the hell you want after that, just... you know aim?

It looks great! I kinda agree with what people said about the contrast between the textures for the ramps and the base floor but I don't think that will matter much in the actual finished map.

The little textures on top of the brick walls really bother me for some reason though...

Also to answer the question about the dust theme. We're not using it because we want each aim map to have a specific theme and not re-use all of what's there already like I already said in another thread.

Oh-kay, that's quite an idea :D Also, the ground sand texture from your screenshot looks almost exactly like the original dust ground texture from CS 1.6, I guess we'll see it in csp_dust2 someday :P

it's easier to test custom textures in small maps (like aim maps). dust2 and inferno will also have custom textures in a future release.

Sirk seems to have no time to map so. I got the source and will be working on it or let red or jolt work on it depending on time. Right now it's probably not going to be part of 1.05 since we're running short and got two (technically 3 with akcolt) maps left to polish on that side and I've got a lot on my plate so.

Should probably close this thread and make a new one once we start on it again. Sorry for the confusion!
