Did some work on the map today, a few screens for you:

Hello everyone,
During the past couple of days I've been working on csp_aim_pistol. Some of you may wonder what happened to the old version I was working on. Well Alba and I simply decided to start the map over from scratch since we weren't happy with the layout.
Thus, what I'll show you here is a fresh new map started a few days ago. That means: a new layout and a new theme!

Alba sent me the basic layout of the map so I can start working on it the next day, this is how it looked like then:

EDIT: LoL, just read about the theme change, sorry (tired with looking for a bug in my program, me stupid failed to notice that I wrote: while(ptr++) instead of: while(*ptr++) in an implementation of strlen(). The best thing is that I copied that function from another program and it was ok there:/ ) waiting for the answer about the theme them :D

The theme now is desert-like. Red rocks and sand ground and gravel. All custom textures :)

Basically the map will be a part of some kind of bunker/military base. Using a mix of concrete, red rocks and sand textures, just like alba said

I personally think the map is a little too big and open for a pistol oriented map. I understand that long range shooting is important but there are rare instances where shooting a usp vs. glock at that distance happens.

It's not long range at all. It might seem big but it's a small map.

Did you miss the word rare? Most T's are smart enough not to try a long range battle with a CT unless they have a usp as well.

I think....

Level ground in middle>low ground in middle

think of all the good aim maps with low ground in the middle...... yeah not many

this of all the good aim maps with a flat middle.... yeah.....

I think that hills on aim maps make them.....awkward...

Just my opinion...

Thank you Ted for the nice crate model! The model isn't completely done yet so it'll most likely change a bit, alba will redo some of its textures and make different variations.
Next things on my todo list:
-clean the displacements surrounding the map
-Make some blend textures and ground displacements
-Model the miradors in 3ds max
-Finish texturing and start the detailing and lighting part

I'll keep you guys updated whenever I have new screens!
