View Full Version : ScoreBoard from cs1.5
I'm suggesting to make a scoreboard from CS1.5. When you get killed - attacker (killer) gets faded with red and slowly fades out (takes 7 seconds to fade out).
Also BOMB and VIP can be green like they were in CS1.5.
Plus when someone is connecting - it should have DEAD in scoreboard. But when finally connected (and is spectator) - there shouldn't be no DEAD (easier to understand who is connected and who isn't).
Also there should be ability mute players in scoreboard like there was before (pressing on the voice icon what is located after ping [also shows who has mic enabled and who hasn't]).
However it is annoying that when you press mouse1 it doesn't shoot when you want (better make it double-click TAB [delay about 0.2sec], and after doing that mouse automatically appears on the scoreboard).
And it should point out with yellow on what player your mouse is (force yellow all line of the player).

or even just fade in and out as they "roll" through instead of just popping up and "jumping" to the next one.

I'm +1 for this, 1.5 was the best CS ever made, and it should be replicated in that sense =]

Also yes - I do agree that for connecting people it's better a separate "Connecting" board (maybe with yellow collor) instead of "Spectators" + "DEAD".

people wouldn't use it. kind of like WoW's ingame voice. NOW if you could integrate Vent/TS2 into the mod somehow, now that would be handy ;)
I like that idea and I'll certainly use it later on but I want to redesign the scoreboard actually, make it fresh while keeping the same structure as 1.6 (same as the HUD) and add all the little 1.5 effects yeah! Should be a combination of both actually :mrgreen:

some of the stuff from the 1.5 could be useful, and the function to mute players by clicking on the scoreboard is very good.

why TS2 aa3 have intregrated ts3 + if this would be real it would cost money as ts/vent servers cost money

I still owns my 1.5,and it works as well.

The voice icon can mute/unmute the guy or you can see is he speaking.
If I'm not wrong,if the server is a lot of players,there will be a slide like you can move it and you can see the other players that didn't show up in the down side.
(But the mute system on it sometimes don't work.)

Actually if you play an pcw, and someone "crashes" out from the game and when they reconnect to the server in middle of the round its many times they stay pretty long in the spectator, so they got a chance to look where you are and your teammates, what you've could do is having an % counter that counts the procent you got untill you are really in the game, that will prevent specatating during the match. Atleast showing if you doing it or not.
But thats just an idea i got :P

when you do this I assume you already thought about having a bomb icon instead of the text 'bomb' and showing the team names of a match instead of T & CT
maybe also include the option for checkboxes of which columns are visible on the scoreboard
I like what Maven mentioned, TS3 3d simulation of your teamm8s around you... I wonder how this could be interfaced.. does ts3 provide an interface for this?

1.) +1. Please don't make the scoreboard interactive with the player mouse. This really can screw you up sometimes.
2.) Though the game is made for competitive play, people WILL pub in it. And you need to embrace the pubbers because that is what feeds the competitive scene. We all started off in pubs.

Well.. I agree... Maybe scoreboard double-clicking (double-click TAB [delay between clicks 0.2sec] and you will already see your mouse browsing through scoreboard). I think that one is the best idea for browsing scoreboard, cause people do not double-click TAB at all. =P

The ability to mute players in console is sufficient because some players like to press TAB while pressing shift (or any other key) to check the number of players alive. I now realize that at the bottom of the HUD it shows 1-5 players but it can provide good information such as exactly who is alive on your team so you can adjust your playing style to match theirs. This argument is more geared for competitive gameplay but that feature should not be implemented into csp

After some tests with amxmodx I found out that average TAB double-click delay (time between pressing TAB [not releasing and pressing again; but pressing, releasing and pressing again) is 0.16sec. So I suggest to make it 0.2sec. =P

but with a CVAR to disable? i don't really like this scoreboard.... i prefer the one that alba is working on.... mouse on scoreboard just could make me confused.. i play half-roound TABing and the mouse would block me from doing somethings such know when i'm at free look and i press tab.

PLEASE, no..... sometimes i double press tab cuz i dont see anything very well... that could make me lose my mouse control...
He means double-clicking over your scoreboard, not double-tapping the TAB key :).

Well... Maybe doubleclicking tab is the idea, cause doubleckicl mouse1 is still a bad idea, cause of shoot delay. =P
