View Full Version : beta maps should be remade for csp
I think we should remake some of the old school maps from b1.0/3.0/6.0/7.1, such as ;
de_fang, es_jail, es_frantic, cs_wpndepot, cs_prison, cs_desert, cs_ship, cs_tire, cs_docks, cs_facility, cs_station, as_riverside, as_forest.bsp, as_tundra.bsp, es_trinity, as_highrise, cs_arabstreets, de_foption, cs_thunder, de_vegas, de_rotterdam
I personally loved these maps when i played them back in the day, they were great fun.

the competitive maps need to be handled first. the maps you mentioned can be made by someone whos outside the CSP dev team.

actuly maps like contra russka and fire is't the best competiv maps acttuly aztec was really good before they move the spawns and cbbl is also a good map but the reamake forge is better so if you could make a better forge and aztec that be nice :D

that is your own opinion. i personally think those two maps are awesome.

i also think that aztec cbble and forge is really good maps actully better then "competiv maps" like contra russka fire strike :D

those arent a priority.
forge would be IMO, not cbble and aztec. that estars thing in korea or whatever, saw the first aztec match in like 6 years. its not needed. same goes for cbble.

if u lose 2 rounds on ct side cbble you've already lost @_@

IMO this wouldn't happen with teams nowadays. The tactical level of CS has increased greatly since then. At that time, people didn't have such elaborate tactics as we do today, so a map with an advantage to the CT's such as cbble/aztec would result most of the time in 14-1/15-0 halfs.
Nuke, for example, used to be an extremely CT-sided map, as was train, with teams always getting 12 or 13 rounds as ct, and losing when getting less. But watching tournaments nowadays, you can see that when both teams have great tactics, they will get a fair amount of rounds as T, sometimes even winning the half.
The Grand Finals for the Chengdu Global Challenge for example, had fnatic winning nuke t-side 9-6, only to see SK Gaming getting the same 9-6 score on the other half forcing it to overtime. Basically, any of the good maps can be balanced, as long as the teams make organized, elaborated tactics for their t-side.
In cbble/aztec, the efficient use of timed smokes and flashes together with split rushes can enhance a team's chance of getting a round as T by A LOT.

Only problem with Cbble really were the short round times, the map was massive so you had to act fast with the 1:20 you had..

i still think that forge is quiet a good map for competiv play only problem is the bombsite is eagully distense from t and c spawn
yep all these 'competitive' maps are #1 priority but i'm saying in future they should be remade for CSP they are really good map's and it brings back the old spirit of old school maps back to life.

Cbble is a definitely a good map. Aztec is a joke. Those maps that #1 listed are not useful for competitive gaming, therefore I find useless making them.

de_rotterdam could be useful
+ for rotterdam but with layout and balance remake ;p
