pls make it possible to use the "record"-command for a auto generated name...
it would be nice

the name maybe is map + start time/date
or like in cs1.6 the screenshots
de_dust200001.tga (or something like that ;X)

i like the time/date more because its a better when you search a recorded demo from some days ago...

Some cvar for auto-starting a new demo after connecting to server would be really sweet. The demo name could be: dd-mm-yyyy_hh:mm_#.dem... only for instance.

makes the client start recording a demo when lo3 starts. would be good. no wasting demo time on warmup.

so if you've got cl_autorecord "1" on, when the admin starts live on 3, you start recording automatically.

Hmm, that's even better, maybe with a cvar to enable and disable a view of the custom settings (refeering to lefthand, crosshair etc.). But you might need a very strong server to store, render and capture all those informations and demos simultaneously in realtime.

I'm pretty sure demos only store vectors within timeframes or something they wont need to store any rendered data also another idea would be to automatically zip and unzip the demo as needed (reduces filesize alot on demos)

But i don`t know how about it commonly, that would mean what demo is beign recorded automatically? It would be really cool, but in same time demo files are quite bulky and if there are so many demos, then it would be quite hard to find the real thing.
Maybe there could be a cvar command for CW servers what starts demo recording for all players... Or in end of each played map we could get a menu what asks if we want to save recorded demo file or not.

this is a great idea, because i record each scrim / match / pug i play and i've come up with a pretty cool default demo name which i use for each game i play

example:

1sthalf-ct-De_(any)-MM-DD-YY-(opposing team name)-(type of scrim)-(# of scrims played)
2ndhalf-t-De_(any)-MM-DD-YY-(opposing team name)-(type of scrim)-(# of scrims played)

I like if this idea can be used to prevent any players from 'forgetting' to record part of a match. We all know even pros have had this problem of not recording a demo or somehow losing one prior to a dispute (resulting in chaos)...I think there should be a standard lo3_match.config that forces a cvar (ex: cl_autorecord 1) so it's impossible to forget to record. As long this config accounts for game pauses/delays due to player disconnects and retrys mid-game, I see this only making CSP better.

sourceTV demos are needed, but povs are needed more, they're so sweet.

additionally, define the event of a match going live and fire it at the clients, if they have autorecord, that's where it starts recording.

if in matchmode it can also fire the 'half ended' event.

if there's a rr request, it just fires the golive again and the old demo is stopped, a new demo is started.
adding the team side is good when demos stop and restart after switching teams.

The one addition I'll suggest is to allow people to type in "record _____________" if they want to customize it entirely. If just "record" is used, n69ky's setup would be used.
