Show Teammates Nickname suggestion

I think alongside having a nickname there should also be an abbreviation option. With that there would be a Show Teammates Abbreviation entry in the CSPromod tab as well. This way instead of seeing a huge obnoxiously long name of a teammate on the radar, we only see 2-3 characters.

I'm already ahead of you on this one. I want the font size to be smaller and be limited to 4 letters only as a short and your own nickname wouldn't be displayed.

Oh, nice! Another request with the radar would be to give the player dots a voice icon when they talk ingame (I don't really play source so I'm not sure if this one is implemented). Maybe even an on screen one as well where you can see across map.

More seriusly 4 is good, 2 and 3 is to short limit, maybe even push it to 5? i guess ill respond myself when i play beta and see the limits of the radar.

The problem with this is that real teams aren't going to use the in game chat. Given that you can't talk to team mates while dead and the what not, real teams will use a vent or a teamspeak or whatnot. Which makes the function you mean fairly pointless.

Why not a new option on the tab who we give the choice of this abreviations ?

Example : On RADAR : Nico
On game (when you frag ,TAB and center names ): laScooo

You know you are in the center of the radar, you know your nickname. So it isn't really necessary to show it. So it's perfectly fine if it's removed in 1.05.

You'd have to have seperate radar names and player names because clan tags often take up the first few letters of a person's name.

doesn't seem like anyone suggested this and i didn't see it in the videos. but there should be an option in the promod tab that allows you to put in your team's tag. then, the radar names have the team tag removed and only shows the name after the tag. i'm sure i'm not the only person who has thought of this, so maybe it's already like that, but the video reviewer didn't mention it, nor did he have some sort of "tag" on or other players with the same prefixed name.
