this is my first map, and I'd appreciated it if you'd try it out and offer some suggestions.
.bsp --->http://www.mediafire.com/?ytkzf1lgl0g
.nav to play with bots --->http://www.mediafire.com/?znaehieomml
Where are the textures?! :lol:

The layout of the map seems to be ok, might become a shocky map when you suddenly find an opponent around the corner because of the narrow passages :P, so it would be intersting for a 5on5 match.
Some suggestions:
1. Add textures
2. Add boxes and other objects
3. Add mirrors :D
4. Change post name to CSP_winecountry

keep it up downbad!
edit: sorry but the overall lighting and environment is really depressing. I'd go insane if I had to be there for one day. Try adding more colors and 'happier' lighting and clean textures.

It's a .vmf-file. May you convert it to .bsp?
Thank you :D.

ok, i changed the link to the .bsp file. I have more models in there,but some arent showing up for some reason. I have a canopy over the other bomb site where they make the wine and put it in the barrels. The other site, they are building a barn to store supplies.

yea, im going to go through and redo the lighting and textures once i have the layout exactly how i want it.
yeah, tested it. Layout seems to be ok, but if you can improve it, do it :). And the textures should be something like that:

Bright like de_inferno from CS 1.5 :P, but with some green.

Update:
I've done a little more work on windecountry. Keep in mind that i am going to change the textures to something like what nova suggested. There's a door in connector that doesnt work rite. I just want a regular rotating door there. Also there is a canopy model i have in the bombsite that wont show up. so i've made a crude one with brushes to hold its place now. In the first post i've updated the links to the .bmp and .nav

Hmm, I'd rather see that you play more with levels and boxes instead of placing out props. Compare with de_cpl_mill or strike. Or heck, any 1.6 map. Mostly boxes and level variation :) I think props are what makes css cluttery, and one of the reasons I'm not too much of a css-fan.

retextured more to what it will be like and i also added a few more places.

With the new textures the map looks completely differnt, not bad. Some textures need still to be fixed, and don't forget to close the skybox ;).
PS: What is meant by props?
PS: What is meant by props?
Some "object" that was already created when he used(added) it.

props = prop_static - example: a car, doors, roofs, truck ...
prop_physics - objects with physic, example: computer (cs_office), table, ball...

I don't like props in maps tbh. They work behind fences n such stuff, but not like cars in css dust 2 n shit.
Ok, got it. Thank you guys :mrgreen:. I don't like much the prop_physics, they don't move very smooth. Instead, the prop_static, I like it, more reliable.
i dont like the atmosphere at all. if you look again at the pictures posted, you see the lovely light and the colourful atmosphere. i cant find this on your map and i think this would give the map some unique character because atm it is dull and grey (imho). i hope you get my point.

He means complex props as opposed to crates.
Using a prop like a car isn't great for gameplay because there are all the little hidey niggly parts on the model, whereas a crate is just a box and it's been used since 1.6.
You can still use a prop_static for a crate, it's just preferred not to use some models in war type maps.

thanks for clearing that up j0lt. Now i understand some of the changes i need to make. I'll also try to make the atmosphere more like the pictures, but first i'll need to read some tutorials on figuring out how to go about doing that. This is the first thing i've ever made including the first square room.
